Sufres por mí (Who's Sorry Now? - B Kalmar / H. Ruby)

Escuché por primera vez este vals en la versión burlona de la escena onírica de la película All That Jazz. Después, el más popular rock lento de Connie Francis. Remontándome a los orígenes, escuchando la versión de Marion Harris descubrí que en general solo cantan el estribillo (de ahí que sea tan pegadiza) pero que hay dos estrofas (ella solo canta una y después agrega un tóxico recitado). Decidí transcribir y traducir todo (la versión socarrona de Nat King Cole y la más aséptica de Eydie Gormé tienen una o las dos estrofas, pero prescinden del recitado). Acá está la pista sin voz más decente.

Un poco escalofriante la ligereza con que la "suinguea" la mayoría: como en algunos tangos resentidos, es como que la víctima se vuelve tan impenitente como el victimario. Cuanto más corta y simple es una canción, más se presta a alargadísimas versiones en que las palabras acaban siendo apenas una excusa para narcisistas pirotecnias vocales en las que menos deja de ser más para ser demasiado, y se pasa de querer transmitir demasiada emoción a no transmitir ninguna (he dicho).
